Ho ho ho. Santa Claus is here, and he brought with him the beta release of OXID eShop 4.5.0. This release ships with a completely revamped store front design and is meant for developers to explore the new features.

By requests of the community, we will introduce beta tests and will change the update cycle from a quarterly scheme now to every four months from OXID eShop version 4.6.0 onwards.

OXID eSales today released version 4.4.0 of OXID eShop for productive use. It is the first and only eCommerce software that includes advanced Private Sales and Live Shopping features in its Open Source package. Additionally, the new version integrates Facebook Connect, Share, Like, Comment, Invite, Chat, and more.

OXID Commons 2010 just ended, and I'd like to share my impressions with you. Our second annual community event once again showed the diversity of our community, its innovative power, and highlighted how much it has grown over the past months.

Everyone in the community knows what the just released OXID eShop 4.3 is about, because it is very much based on input from the community.

Recently we published version 3 of "oxchkversion", a freely available consistency checking tool for OXID eShop which ensures a smooth upgrade.

After the holiday season, we will start working on the new major version 4.3.0 of the OXID eShop. We are glad to inform you about the main features planned.

OXIDlab is where we publish prototypes or test implementations, which are prepared by our teams. These results of our daily work are very often the first steps to new features for our products. Sometimes they just stay experimental. However, feel free to use it for your own purposes and if you like you can even join us in developing them at http://dev.oxidforge.org/.

As usual, we fixed a lot of bugs (see https://bugs.oxid-esales.com/changelog_page.php) again. and implemented a couple of new stuff.

What probably is especially interesting is the handling of external pictures from now on: No mingeling the code any longer, just a quick entry into the config file - and here we go :-)

OXID eShop team did an excellent job. OXID eShop is basically ready to ship. Just final finish is currently being done: Those things like final translations, QA is manual double checking for possible issues and similar....
