You can set up various shipping methods in OXID eShop. These include shipping by post, UPS, or DHL, for example. Different shipping costs can be set up for each shipping method.

Shipping costs are specified using shipping cost rules. The shipping costs are calculated from the shipping cost rules. The manner in which the shipping costs are calculated is explained in How the shipping cost calculation works.

You can set up the shipping costs for a shipping method by assigning shipping cost rules to the shipping method.

For shipping methods, you can also specify the payment methods that can be used. To learn more about payment methods, refer to Payment methods: Basics.

Instructions with examples

Detailed instructions with examples are available for frequently used shipping cost settings:

• Free shipping for orders exceeding a certain goods value
  In this example, free shipping is set up for orders with a purchase price of EUR 80 or higher.
• Weight-dependent shipping costs
  In this example, three different shipping costs are set up: from 0 to 5kg, from 5 to 30kg, and over 30kg.
• Different shipping costs for domestic and international shipments
  If you ship internationally, shipping is usually more expensive. In this example, different shipping costs are created for domestic and international shipments.
• Higher shipping costs if certain products are purchased
  Especially large or heavy products often result in additional shipping costs. In this example, additional shipping costs are calculated when certain products are purchased.
• Lower shipping costs if only products from certain categories are purchased
  This example explains the procedure for calculating lower shipping costs if only products from a certain category are purchased.
