Depending on the payment method, e-Commerce is confronted by several payment risks. Of course there are payment methods (such as prepaid, Paypal) preventing traders of deficits of payments but providing only these methods, excludes a huge number of customers and with it a big turnover. Unfortunately customers prefer payment methods that carry risk for traders (purchase on account, direct debits, credit card) but they also provide a huge turnover potential and a competitive advantage which should not be underestimated. An effective risk management converts this turnover gain into profit. Most import in this case is the usage of internal and external data to verify customers in combination to an individual dunning and collection procedure.

Andreas Ziethen deals more than 10 years with webdevelopement and PHP. He made a name for himself especially in the area of ecommerce (focus on OXID eShop). During the last years he published several articles in national an international professional journals about PHP and about the OXID eShop.
His company anzido GmbH is a long lasting and well known OXID premium solution partner.
- OXID4ALLThroughout the land PHP frameworks are discussed very much. They shall simplify and unify the development of PHP projects. Also according to OXID eShop since a while there is a discussion about integration of ZEND framework.
In this workshop I’d like to turn the tables and demonstrate how the OXID framework can be used to develop your own applications which might not necessarily have to do with a shop.
For our own company I wrote a small project recording tool based on an OXID CE. This tool is used for tracking the work of our developers. Everybody can fill in on which project he worked, what he did and how long it took. Additionally some tools for analysis where written which help the management to control the implementations in all the projects and to simplify invoicing practice.
I’d like to introduce this project to you in a workshop and demonstrate to you the huge amount of possibilities brought to you by the OXID framework and how you easily can implement your own functionality to your applications. The workshop will give you an introduction to the potential of OXID framework. The whole code of the introduced application will be available for free as open source.
