During the ordering process, users can choose how they want to pay for the order: a payment method can be selected in ordering step 3.
Payment methods are managed under Shop Settings -> Payment Methods. Here, new payment methods can be set up and existing payment methods can be edited.
For each shipping method (post, UPS, DHL, etc.), you can specify the payment methods that can be used. In order for the payment method to be used, it must be assigned to shipping methods. Refer to Shipping: Basics for more information on how to assign payment methods to shipping methods.
For each payment method, the user groups allowed to use this payment method must be specified. As long as no user groups have been assigned to a payment method, it is not available as a payment method. The procedure for assigning user groups to a payment method is explained in Primary settings for payment methods.
Additional information regarding payment methods
Primary settings for payment methods explains the primary settings you can make for payment methods.
In Displaying payment methods only to certain users, you will learn how to set up payment methods in such a way they will be displayed only to certain users.
Instructions and examples
Instructions with examples are available for frequently used payment methods:
- In Setting up fee for cash on delivery a EUR 7.50 cash on delivery fee is set up.
- In Setting up cash discount an advance payment method is set up in which 2% is subtracted from the purchase price.
