You can set up discounts so that they are only active for a certain time period. Instead of selecting the Active check box, you can define a time period during which the discount is to be active in OR Active.

You have the option of assigning each discount to users or user groups. The discount is then only valid for the assigned user groups/users. This allows you, for example, to set up lower prices for your commercial customers.

A discount can be configured so that a product is added for free. For example, you can add a free bonus product to orders exceeding a certain purchase price.

You can set up discounts so that they are only valid for certain products. You can specify that the discount is only valid for certain categories or you can assign individual products to the discount. You can make these settings on the Products tab.

You can manage discounts under Shop Settings -> Discounts. All discounts are listed there in the top half. Click a discount in the list to edit its settings in the bottom half.
