You can set up various shipping methods in OXID eShop. These include shipping by post, UPS, or DHL, for example. Different shipping costs can be set up for each shipping method.

Shipping costs are specified using shipping cost rules. The shipping costs are calculated from the shipping cost rules. The manner in which the shipping costs are calculated is explained in How the shipping cost calculation works.

Shipping cost rules can be set up so that they only apply to certain countries: To do this the countries for which the shipping cost rules are to be valid can be selected in Assign countries.

Shipping cost rules can be specified in such a way that they are only valid when certain products are purchased. The categories for which the shipping cost rules are valid can be selected on the Products tab using Assign Products.

Shipping cost rules can be set up so that they are valid only for a certain purchase price. The price condition can be selected for this purpose. You can use the entry fields => (greater than or equal to) and <= (less than or equal to) to specify the range for which the shipping cost rules are valid.

Shipping cost rules can be set up so that they are valid only for a particular weight. The Weight Condition can be selected for this purpose. You can use the entry fields => (greater than or equal to) and <= (less than or equal to) to specify the weight range for which the shipping cost rules are valid. The unit of weight is kilograms (kg).

A frequently occurring problem is when a shipping method is not displayed in ordering step 3. In order for a shipping method to be displayed, the following conditions must be fulfilled:

There are many products that are very small and lightweight. These products can be shipped at a reduced cost. When "standard" products are also purchased, shipping will be more expensive.

To manage shipping methods, select Shop Settings -> Shipping Methods. A list of available shipping methods is displayed in the top half. Click a shipping method to edit the settings for this shipping method in the bottom half.

To manage shipping cost rules, select Shop Settings -> Shipping Cost Rules. A list of available shipping cost rules is displayed in the top half. Click a shipping cost rule to edit the settings for this shipping cost rule in the bottom half.
