Der Dialog über die Fortsetzung des gemeinsamen Wegs ins Enterprise Segment stand im Mittelpunkt des Partnertages 2011, zu dem OXID eSales am 25. Oktober in das Konzerthaus Freiburg eingeladen hatte. Wer miterlebt hat, wie intensiv dabei auch die extra großzügig bemessenen Pausen zum Austausch mit alten und neuen Kontakten genutzt wurden weiß, warum mitunter auch von der „OXID Familie“ gesprochen wird.

Nachdem Dr. Kai Hudetz vom IfH Köln unter dem Titel „Social, Mobile, Local“ in seinem Eröffnungsvortrag Trends und Chancen für den Handel aufgezeigt hatte, ging es für die 180 Teilnehmer als nächstes darum, einen Einblick  in OXIDs strategische Planungen zu gewinnen. Den Anfang machte Founder und CEO Roland Fesenmayr, der die Best-of-Breed Strategie und hohe Lösungskompetenz bei der neuen Positionierung von OXID eSales in den Vordergrund stellte. Daran anknüpfend zeigte Vorstand Andrea Seeger auf, wie und wo sich unsere Partner an der neuen, hochwertigeren Inszenierung der Marke OXID beteiligen können.

Roland Fesenmayr hält einen VortragNicht von ungefähr stand ihr Vortrag unter dem Motto „We are OXID“. Nachdem Vertriebsleiter Michael Benz und ich unsere Roadmap für Vertrieb und Partnermanagement vorgestellt hatten, folgte der Blick unter die Haube: Produktmanagerin Caroline Helbing und Chief Software Architect Erik Kort gaben einen Ausblick auf OXIDs Produktstrategie für die nächsten Monate. Außerdem wurde von Ihnen das neue Programm für Technologiepartnerschaften präsentiert, das OXIDs Best-of-Breed Ansatz weiterführt und noch mehr Unit-Test-fähige, zertifizierte Extensions zum Ziel hat, die ein zentraler Bestandteil der OXID Plattform werden sollen. Bei der Produktentwicklung bringt eine neue Releasepolitik unseren Partnern transparente Release-Intervalle und schafft so die Möglichkeit, Anpassungsarbeiten und Upgrades frühzeitig zu planen.

Mit viel Verve stellte als nächstes unser neuer Supportleiter Gültekin Koc OXIDs neue Softwarewartungs- und Supportverträge vor, die 2012 eingeführt werden sollen und deren Optionen sich am differenzierter gewordenen Supportbedarf unserer Kunden orientieren. Mit dem selbstbewußten Fazit „OXID Support ist gut“ ging es dann zum Networken in die Pause. Danach diskutierten  Partner und Management in zwei parallelen Workshops über die Weiterentwicklung von Plattform und Geschäftsstrategie. Die von mir besuchte Strategie-Session endete mit der Bitte an OXID, trotz aller Innovation an einem solch offenen und vertrauensvollen Kommunikationsstil festzuhalten.

Partnervortrag zum Onlineshop von Emmas EnkelUnter dem Motto „10 Projects – 10 Solutions“ gehörte die Bühne dann unseren Partnern, die zeigten wie man auf Basis von OXID mit innovativen Ideen unterschiedlichste anspruchsvolle Kundenanforderungen umsetzen kann.

Das Highlight des Abends waren natürlich die OXID Best Solution Awards, die die Gewinner – und nicht nur die – im Kagan’s über Freiburgs Dächern feierten. OXID Partner Day 2011

On October 25th, we celebrated our annual OXID Partner Day. More than 150 sales and technically-oriented people working at our partner agencies attended and took part in the speeches and workshops where OXID announced important strategic initiatives as well as the roadmap for upcoming versions of the OXID platform. This roadmap will be published soon… stay tuned.

Presenting awards for the most interesting and challenging online stores using OXID eShop, either from a technical or design standpoint, has been a tradition for some years now. Thus, during the evening event, the following shops received awards:

This year, we also presented an award to an online store for its innovative implementation of an interesting multi-channel business concept: in emmas-enkel.de, realized by our partner SALT Solutions, the online and offline stores are perfectly synchronized and allow delivery and pick-up on site. The purchaser can decide between multiple channels like mobile, online store or offline salesroom.

OXID eSales Will Award the Best OXID eShop Solution – Submit Yours Today!

Our Best Solution Award honors OXID eShop 4 implementations of partners, developers and community members. The jury will evaluate an online store’s technology, design, marketing, appearance and target group focus. Last year, edeka24.debellobene.de and woonio.de were awarded with the prize.

Submit a Solution – Deadline is Tomorrow

So far, most of the applications have been made in the category Enterprise Edition. If you’re up for suggesting your shop solution based on OXID eShop Community Edition, then do not hesitate to submit it for the best solution award (German).

Details on Partner Day

The award ceremony will take place during our upcoming Partner Day. At Partner Day, we’ll discuss topics such as the OXID ecosystem, which comprises clients, users, partners and developers. Other topics include product management, sales and partner management.

The German press release about the Partner Day includes a nice quote from our CEO Roland Fesenmayr that outlines the benefits of Open Source and a partner network. Here’s the translation:

There is a higher degree of innovation in commercial open source than at pure proprietary providers. As a software vendor, we feel obliged to do what is best for the ecosystem to keep the innovation going. Innovation and the ecosystem are the basis for further growth and for expanding into areas like mobile and social commerce. The future belongs to shopping cart systems that are extremely extendable and can be tailored to fit the business model of the merchant.

Partners, developers and OXID staff will present innovative shopping cart implementations and exchange developing approaches. Sandro Groganz, Founder and Principal of Initmarketing, will present a talk in German, entitled „The Power of the Community for the Enterprise Business“.

Introducing OLIGOFORM GbR, One of our Latest Partners

We are OLIGOFORM GbR from Halle (Saale), and we offer Web design, development and consulting services. Our business focus is to „put your ideas into a digital design“.

Our first experience with e-commerce was with osCommerce and xt:Commerce. Our customers, however, required a shop solution that offered fully developed, out-of-the-box features on the one hand, but also allowed complex individual programming on the other hand. From a technical point of view, the existing systems were all at the same level. However, from our agency’s point of view, there were two criteria that made us choose OXID, and that was the professional and quality-conscious infrastructure for partners (modules) and an open community (know how).

Once we decided to become OXID partners in mid-2009, we gained a number of further advantages and we are now also able to react to individual customer demands much quicker. For example, one day after we were listed online as an OXID partner, we received a request from a customer near us and, one week later, we convinced him of an OXID-based solution after a corporate briefing.

The technical implementation and individualization of e-commerce have become
fixed business activities of OLIGOFORM since then. Our customers are to be found in several different branches. Besides a young and rising Berlin fashion label, we recently successfully launched the online shop of a start-up entrepreneur who specialises in creating customised and fancy cakes.

We will prove, in the next few weeks, that we have personally caught the e-commerce fever: our own shop with a well-known mascot will reach the Web soon!

We don’t regret our decision to become a OXID solution partner at all, and we are
eagerly looking forward to further exciting projects and upcoming versions 😉

OXID Partnerday 2008 Plus a Half Night

Going to bed at 3 o’clock last night, after celebrating with our partners I feel unexpected good today!

Maybe this is up to our partnerday yesterday, which was a really amazing event.

More than hundred of our solution and strategic partnes visited us at Freiburg, Germany, where our headquarters reside, to hear about the latest OXID news, present

their solutions and doing intensive networking.

Roland Fesenmayr presented our prospective strategy with a lot of detailed information in his visionary and intoxicating way.

Afterwards we had an interesting discussion, which could clarify last questions.

The overview about the news concerning the partnerprogramm by Michael Benz the OXID Partnermanager was acclaimed by the audience.

He also presented the new partnerlevel “Solution Partner” which allows new partners to be able to start quick and easy working with OXID and presenting themselves.

After giving an overview about the new highlights of the new Release 4, I informed our partners in my update to the partnermarketing about the hows and whys concerning the new pricing of the OXID Enterprise and the Professional Edition, whereas we have all

actual modules included in the basic versions. The main part were the possibilities and tools how to work with the OXID

community, by using the blog, forum, contributing their modules or writing their expertise in the tutorials etc and

I think most of our partners are really interested in participating in the community. Some of them will focus on the

enterprise segment furthermore and will implement highly complex projects, but we can expect they will give support

by sharing their knowledge to some interesting points.

The finish of the morning slots was made by 11 partner in a quite sporty partners format: each of them got 5 minutes

to present their business focus and offers – after 5 minutes Daniel Lorig (Junior Marketing Manager) stroke the gong.

I didn’t imagine how much and valuable information they were able to present in this short time!

After the good and solid meal in OXID style we divided the afternoon in two parts.

In the marketing part a lot of our OXID eFire partners presented their services and the benefits by using the

integration in OXID eFire. We had top-class speakers from Webmiles, FactFinder, eBay, Heidelpay, Atriga, Ciao, Zoomio and Dresdner-Cetelem Kreditbank.

Wheras in the technology slot Ralf Trapp, our Technical Product Manager, gave a live presentation in how quick

and efficient we can act within our agile software developing process: from recognizing a bug, solving it,

testing it and releaseing it in an official new version.

One of the most import aspects for our partners is: they can use these testing methods too for being able to develop stable modules and –

this is the more important aspect – to be able to speed up the time to market for customer projects.

In the last technology slot with Erik Kort (Head of Development) we learned the basics of how to

develop modules and how to certify them. There will be a new seminar within the OXID academy where we get instruction about module

developing in a very detailed way.

Altogether I think we succeeded to enthuse our partners to go the next steps with us and to foster the OXID community.

The highlight of the evening in the Kagan Lounge – a nice club at the 18th floor wit surround view – was the

ceremony of the OXID Best Solution Award and I was very proud to present our top-class jury: Professor Wolfgang Maass from the University Furtwangen, Thomas Karst CEO Trusted Shops and Johannes Altmann from shoplupe!

And now we come back to the beginning of my text – the evening ended very late after lots of good talks, new ideas and some drinks.

But sometimes during the day yesterday I got touched by this great dynamic and atmosphere and I thougt

“wow, we have so great partners and it’s wonderful to watch them combining their ideas and businesses”.

I think we can say the whole eCommerce competence of Germany celebrated in the Kagan Lounge in Freiburg last night 😉

The only one who did a very great job too, but didn’t get his adequate credits was Elie our DJ – sorry for that Elie, but our partners

preferred to network all night long and nobody wanted to dance 😉
