OXID Commons 2014 – The E-Commerce networking event, 22./23 May 2014

OXID CommonsWe are already up to the 6th OXID commons! Meanwhile we invite online traders, shop operators, partner agencies, strategic partners, platform partners and all who are into E-Commerce.

What awaits us is a comprehensive program with parallel running thematic channels of current Strategy & Business, and Technology relevant to our field. New to 2014 small workshops will be held for us, as well as highlighted for discussion are broad and in-depth up-to-date themes. This year the key points of the Business Channels are Crosschannel Commerce, Customer Centricity, Market Strategy, B2B Commerce and Frontend. The technology channel focuses on Shop performance, Integration and Customizing. Workshops about Cross border trade, Shop usability, Legal queries concerning commercial open source Licensing, likewise the changes to E-Commerce regulations brought into play from 2014 round off the program.

Among others, we look forward to hearing from the experts in our field Jochen Krisch (Exciting Commerce), Dr. Roman Zenner (wasmitweb.de), Malte Wilkes (Erfolgsketten Management Wilkes Stange GbR), Johannes Altmann (Shoplupe GmbH), Thomas Lohner (SysEleven GmbH), Kore Nordmann (Qafoo GmbH), Lars Jankowfsky (NFQ.COM) and Philip Schneider (superReal GmbH).

We will already award the „GOLDEN CART“ for the 9th time for outstanding shop solutions in five categories. Especially judged along with this will be holistic solutions in total performance and innovation, as well as the complexity of challenges of project implantation.

As many as 70 Exhibitors and Sponsors will again be there this year, and representatives of the complete E-Commerce supply chain from payment, expert searching and hosting to date management and logistics etc. In advance a big thank you to you all.

After an eventful day with expert talks, thrilling discussions, new contacts met, and informative workshops we will again celebrate with the OXID Commons party, including a Live Band, D.J. BBQ and tasty cocktails.
We invite all developers and techie-aficionados to the OXID Unconference also in Freiburg trade fair. What always goes hand in hand with an Unconference on the first day the events be put together by us. We are of course open to any suggestions. In order to be able to plan the events better we kindly ask for advance registration, note that a brief talk description can be directly submitted.

Announcing Events: OXID User Group Meetings, Trade Fairs, Barcamps and OXID Commons

Today we’d like to inform you about some upcoming events you should know about.

First off, the site for the OXID user groups was completely revamped and now offers great possibilities to list and search/filter for all upcoming and past user group events as well as to RSVP for these activities.

For this year, the user group NRW has something special in mind: they prepared seven topics for a best practice series when working with OXID. So at the first event this year in Essen the topic will be about virtualization and how to configure development environments for distributed teams and about how to struggle through the deployment process with this technology.

From February 14th till 16th the OpenUp-Camp, an unconference under the umbrella of the Open Source Business Foundation (OSBF) will take place in Nuremberg. Like the name of this event implies, this barcamp’s main topic is all around open source in the widest manner, what is the impact of open source and where does it lead us. OXID eSales is a sponsoring partner of this event and will be present on site.

euroshopAlso in February, you can meet us together with our partners Heidelpay, Nionex, MaPS System and Softengine on our booths at the trade fairs EuroShop (6 / 6F05) from 16th to 20th in Düsseldorf as well as at the Internet World (B1 / D176) on 25th and 26th in Munich. Come along and feel free to contact us for a meeting.

Another event that might appeal to you, if you’re in development or at least close to it, is the annual eCommerceCamp in Jena on March 7th and 8th. This event took place last year for the first time and is open to all e-commerce developers no matter which shopping cart system they use. The topics, by their nature, are heavily technical but also deep into e-commerce. Naturally, OXID eSales is one of the main sponsors of this event again.

Last but not least: The date for OXID Commons in this year is fixed as May 22nd and 23rd – save it! It is already possible to submit presentation proposals, and there are still sponsorship slots available. As usual, on May 23rd, the OXID Commons Unconference will take place for developers around the OXID eShop e-commerce platform.

 

 

dmexco 2012 – Der Countdown läuft…

dmexco 2012Nur noch wenige Wochen bis mit der dmexco DIE international führende Leitmesse für die gesamte digitale Wirtschaft wieder Ihre Tore öffnet.

Vor einigen Wochen haben wir mit den ersten Event-Vorbereitungen begonnen. Die Gestaltung des Standkonzepts ist jedes Jahr wieder eine besonders spannende Herausforderung für uns. Hier möchten wir aber noch nicht zu viel verraten ;-).

Die Vorfreude auf die diesjährige dmexco steigt von Tag zu Tag und wir freuen uns auf viele Besucher an unserem Stand C 011 / D 010 in Halle 7. Mit uns am Stand präsentieren sich 12 ausgewählte Partner aus unserem Ökosystem:

 

In diesem Jahr können interessierte Besucher vorab einen persönlichen Gesprächstermin mit uns vereinbaren. Der Eintritt zur Fachmesse ist kostenlos, jedoch müssen sich Besucher vorab über dieses Formular registrieren. Die Messe findet vom 12. – 13. September 2012 in Köln statt.

Visit Us at the Digital Marketing Exposition and Conference 2011 in Cologne on Sep 21-22!

This year, the leading German trade fair for the digital economy, Digital Marketing Exposition and Conference (dmexco) will open its doors on 21 and 22 September in Cologne. As usual, OXID eSales will have a stand together with its partners. This year Twenga, TWT, Werbewelt and Heidelpay will be at our booth #E-010/D-011 in hall 8. You’re welcome to visit us and talk to us.

It is worth mentioning that every field of our business is covered by the booth chaperones. So, regardless of whether you want to talk to us about OXID eShop Enterprise Edition, module writing, community issues or strategic partnerships, you’ll find the right person for your request. And of course, we will also be bringing along our POS multi-touch screen to show you possibilities of connecting your Internet business with your „real“ store.

OXID eSales Introduced to France at Salon E-Commerce Paris

In summer 2010, I visited France’s #1 e-commerce trade fair, Salon E-Commerce Paris, for the first time to get an impression about the French e-commerce market and to make some initial contacts. One year later, with the help of our friends at Vikapera, OXID was introduced to France with its own stand at Salon E-Commerce Paris 2011.

Apparently, we were in the right place at the right time, literally: our stand was between our competitors’ stands which were advertising their own shopping cart systems. To be honest, I was overwhelmed by the masses of interested people we were able to welcome at our booth. Besides casual visitors, many people – mostly Internet natives – already knew about us, thanks to blog posts by Ludovic Passamonti, isquarecube and Capitaine Ecommerce. Online merchants as well as implementation agencies specializing in e-commerce solutions were interested in learning more about OXID products and in talking to us personally. And of course, our POS multi-touch terminal was a perfect attention-grabber as well 🙂

A short anecdote will give you the flavor of the event and help me wrap up this blog post. A visitor came up to our stand. Unfortunately, he didn’t speak any English and I only speak a little French, so Marie had to translate. He asked if OXID eShop was suitable to promote just one product. I said „Yes, of course. In general, it would work but the system would be a bit over-sized for this purpose, wouldn’t it?“. After some more French discussion, Marie turned around and chuckled. Then she told me what this one product is: „It is a little tool to help ladies to use urinals like men, just standing.“
