OXID gains Schwab subsidiary sheego

Freiburg, 23.01.2014 - e-commerce solution provider OXID eSales AG has gained fashion company sheego as a new customer. The sheego company, a Schwab subsidiary and part of the Otto Group, produces and markets ladies fashion in larger sizes. The continuously growing company opted for OXID eShop Enterprise Edition as its new e-commerce platform. The OXID platform will optimize sheego's multi-channel program, create a cross-channel brand appearance and serve as a base for international expansion. OXID partner Shopmacher is currently implementing the online range that will go live in 2014.

Schwab Versand GmbH launched the sheego brand in 2009. The fashion label for larger sizes offers its products via stationary shop-in-shop concepts as well as online and via mobile end devices. The range includes custom-made collections alongside designs from major labels. The company decided in 2013 to implement its online e-commerce service on an OXID platform. The reasons: continuously growing customer numbers, the expansion of the multi-channel service and the planned internationalization. OXID solution partner Shopmacher eCommerce GmbH & Co. KG is currently implementing the OXID eShop Enterprise Edition at sheego.

Peak load and multi-channel

Around 20 million visitors make use of sheego's online service every year. 2,000 to 3,000 orders per day and traffic peaks as a result of online marketing campaigns are not uncommon. High response speed and top performance were therefore the decisive factors for the choice of e-commerce platform. The OXID eShop Enterprise Edition provides the performance required for the fashion label's online service. The management team at sheego also appreciated the simple and efficient integration of various sales channels. The OXID platform will in future combine all channels to create a uniform shopping experience. It will enable end customers to place a product in the shopping basket in the mobile shop and then complete the purchase later at home in the online shop. Optimum presentation on any end device is guaranteed thanks to Responsive Design.

Customization and future orientation

Classy design and well-presented page structuring will in future put sheego's online fashion range firmly in the foreground. Furthermore, functions such as search, product recommendations and customer opinions will guarantee fast orientation and overview. The platform's modular design and Commercial Open Source approach support ongoing development: sheego's developers will continue to develop the e-commerce range in-house. At a later stage the company will begin its international expansion and implement sub-shops with independent language and country administration based on the OXID platform.
