Two new EU obligations from 27 September 2026
Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 requires every online retailer selling physical goods to buyers in the EU to make two things visible in the shop. This applies regardless of company size and product range. A note in the terms and conditions or in the footer is not sufficient for this.
Statutory warranty notice
The harmonised EU notice on the statutory warranty informs the buyer of their rights in the event of defects. It must appear in three places: on the product page, in the checkout and in the order confirmation email. The email thereby fulfils the requirement of a durable medium.
GARAN label
If a product carries a commercial durability guarantee from the manufacturer, the official GARAN label must appear on the product page. It shows the manufacturer brand, model and guarantee duration in an EU-wide standardised format.

Notice and label right on the product
On the product detail page, the buyer sees the button to the statutory warranty and the GARAN label with the guarantee duration, right next to the price and cart button.
The complete GARAN label
One click on the label opens the official EU template with manufacturer brand, model identifier and guarantee duration, including explanatory text in all EU languages.
The statutory warranty notice
The button to the statutory warranty opens the official EU notice with the buyer's rights and a QR code to the European consumer portal.
Visible already in the cart
The GARAN label is also shown on the item line in the mini cart. This keeps the information present all the way to checkout.

In the order overview, the statutory warranty notice appears directly before the 'Order with obligation to pay' button, complemented by the GARAN label on the cart line item.
Configure centrally what appears where
In the module settings, you switch each display location individually: the statutory warranty notice on the product page, in the checkout, in the email, on category pages and in the header, plus the locations for the GARAN label.
Maintain guarantee data on the product
In the 'Guarantee label' tab on the product, you enter duration, brand and model identifier. The label only appears once all mandatory details are complete.
Additionally: an interface for automated data maintenance. External systems such as product information systems (PIM) can set and query the guarantee data via a secured interface. The write operation is protected by its own access right.
