Find out what customers search for and don't find in your shop.
Close search gaps
Every search without a result shows you what your customers are looking for and what you don't offer yet – or don't name the way they do. The OPAL captures these terms in the background and makes them available, sorted, in the administration area. You decide what to do with them: expand the range, add a synonym, rename a category.
What the OPAL solves for you
1.Making visible what was invisible before: every unsuccessful search in the shop.
2.Every entry shows the gap between your product vocabulary and the language of your customers.
3.After every measure you delete the term. If it doesn't come back, the measure was right.
Before / After
You sit in the range meeting and argue with three examples from memory.
You put a sorted list of the twenty most frequent gaps on the table.
Marketing plans the autumn campaign with terms from a trend report.
Marketing plans with real search queries from its own customers over the last four weeks.
A customer searches for "Sneaker", your shop only knows "Turnschuh". Result: an empty page, a bounce.
You see the term in the list, add a synonym, and the next search returns results.
Part of the OPAL family
OPALs are prebuilt project accelerators from OXID eSales that serve as a solid foundation and need to be adapted to your system landscape.

Silent capture in the background
As soon as a search returns no result, the term is captured automatically. No one has to set anything up, no one has to think about it.
A frequency counter instead of data clutter
If the same term is searched ten times, one entry with a counter is created, not ten duplicate entries. The list stays readable.
First and last occurrence visible
You can tell whether a term has been trending since yesterday or has been tracked for months. That way you prioritise what comes first.
Language-precise evaluation
Every entry shows which language was searched in. You treat German and international markets separately.
Filtering and sorting in the administration area
You search specifically for "vegan", sort by frequency or show only the last few days. The most important gaps are at the top right away.
Cleanup after every measure
Delete individual entries or the whole list. What is really fixed does not reappear. What does come back needs a different measure.
Who is this OPAL for?
Shop operator / e-commerce manager
In your weekly look at the shop metrics you see what was searched for – but not reliably which searches ended without a result. Those are exactly what you need for range decisions.
You get the zero-result searches as a filtered list in the administration area, with frequency and language – without configuration and without switching to another tool. You go into the range meeting with a concrete list instead of examples from memory. After every measure you know whether it worked. You no longer discuss assumptions, but decide based on terms and numbers from your own shop.
