Control indexing yourself
OXID indexes all content by default. That fits for products and categories, but not always for supplier pages without their own text, expired campaigns or delisted items. The OPAL gives the shop team control directly in the administration area – without a developer.
What the OPAL solves for you
1.Set individual pages or entire page groups to noindex directly in the administration area – without a developer.
2.A single setting is enough to remove hundreds of similar pages from the index at once.
3.The active rule is transparently traceable in the administration area at any time.
Before / After
200 supplier pages without their own content sit in the index – even though they answer no search queries that lead to a purchase.
A single setting in the module options sets all supplier pages to noindex. New suppliers inherit the rule automatically.
Last summer's campaign landing page is still in the index, shows outdated prices and casts the shop in a bad light.
Marketing sets the CMS page to noindex directly after the campaign ends, without a ticket, without coordination, in under a minute.
A new manufacturer page should stay visible, all others without their own content should go.
The page type gets a default rule, individual important pages stay visible as an exception. The team controls both itself in the administration area.
Part of the OPAL family
OPALs are prebuilt project accelerators from OXID eSales that serve as a solid foundation and need to be adapted to your system landscape.

Features at a glance
OXID
<OPAL/>
Meta-robots setting per page
For every item, every category, every CMS page, every manufacturer and every supplier, you decide directly in the SEO tab whether the page should appear in Google.
Global default values per page type
One setting, and hundreds of supplier pages are removed from the index in one go. Newly created pages inherit the rule automatically.
Transparent inheritance logic
The dropdown shows you in plain text whether the active rule was set individually, inherited from the type default or comes from the OXID standard behaviour.
Coverage of all five OXID content types
Items, categories, CMS pages, manufacturers and suppliers. No content type slips through the net in SEO control.
In short: what you set in the administration area takes effect on the next page view – without anyone having to intervene in the system.
